A difficult area to cover maybe?

It would be useful to have somewhere where good builders or garages or such could be reported or good experiences reported. I reckon it would have to be closely moderated to avoid businesses reporting themselves for free advertising! Maybe a requirement for contributors to have a post count of 20 for example?

Any others have opinions on this?

I like the idea, Raddog, but I think it would be almost impossible to properly control - there's nothing to stop a business posing as a satisfied customer and I suppose I'd rather be able to discuss a recommendation with the recommender face to face. The internet's a lawless place and I'd hate to see anyone stung by a rogue trader if it hadn't been picked up. Sorry if that sounds really negative. I'm open to ideas if anyone's got a foolproof way of making it work, though!

I understand the reservations about people posting recommendations of traders, but how about people asking for help in sourcing product. We need some noticeboards for the outside of the church. We are taking down the current boards, they are an eyesore. We need a couple of big, lockable, vandal resistant, noticeboards we can put promotional posters about church events in. I would love to source them locally if I can. I'll do the checks to make sure they are not rogue traders as we would with any supplier. Any ideas?
