There are other channels you can use :-
    1. Write to your Cllr.

    2.  Go along to one of their surgeries.

    3.  Request a formal question to be raised on your behalf or in person via the 'Forum' etc.

Yes I am sure the Cllrs read and are informed of points raised on this site and I know they have responded promptly in the past and I am sure whatever gripes you have can be sorted eventually. We all know that the wheels of local government move oh so slowly but they do move.It may take what seems an interminable time to sort out but I am sure your Cllr will at least try or tell you the reasons as to why it may not be feasible.Hope this helps   JP

4 come along to a neighbourhood forum meeting

There is at least one local councilor waiting to answer your questions, also, members of the Community Police team are there as well.

check out the link on the forum home page for details of future meetings

Hi there
I thought the whole idea of the internet and internet site,s like this one was to discuss thing,s for our  area not go to meeting,s (tea and biscuits ) it is the twenty fist century isn,t it ?
So why carn,t councilor,s come onto the site and tell us anything about for instance who has got the go ahead for the BTsite ?
Or is that not aloud ?
It seems to me that everyone on the site has one purpose (hopefully) to better stirchley ,so why not open the debate on line so people can ask question,s to our elected representatives?
They are paid by us and supposed to work for us , so come on councilors no doubt you can find the time in between the tea and biscuits to answer an on line question.

Your probably right Mart, have you asked the councilors if they would monitor and answer these forum board questions?.
As for the tea and biscuits, simple a gesture to those who come to the meeting straight from work.

Having tried the 21st century approach previously I can assure you Mart the direct approach is much more successful. You can't really tell what folks are thinking or saying via an e-mail or a response to one of these threads but the direct approach generally is a tad more successful plus the Cllrs can see how emotive a particular subject is to yourself.

I continue to use direct and indirect approaches and it may help your cause Mart to adopt a similiar line. Not everyone feels comfortable in a public environment to ask what is really bugging them but as I intimated yesterday there are other channels to persue. Again I hope this helps.  JP

What about putting a list of councilors E Mail addresses on here and not just only Conservitive councilors.
I guess someone will now tell me,there e mail address is on the council web site and all i will say to that is since, they have upgraded it,it's terrible.
Putting there address on here would be helpful to a lot of people.     Wink

Question
John price  are you a counciler? because the feed back i am getting sounds suspiciously  like the spin we get from our elected representative,s .
The site might as well be called  the hazell well park site and i bet all the people responding on the site dont even live in stirchley, they live  in the houses that back onto hazell well park and the dell at the top of park not stirchley .
So come on councilers give us some positive feed back on good Old stirch.
As i say there is not much response for the people living on the pershore road directly .

Have a look Mart at the list of Cllrs to see if my name is there then you can formulate your questions cohesively!

Take a look in the local library to see ALL the roads in Stirchley. It isn't just the Pershore Road.

Is there a problem with an area in Stirchley having a makeover? Whether its Hazelwell Park the new Micro Park or a new car park it has got to enhance the area.If these are problems to you the use May 6th as your opportunity to voice your dissatifaction.

If you live within the Stirchley boundary you'll receive newsletters from the local Cllrs on a regular basis concerning Stirchley which tells you what is going on in the area good or bad plus you will have just received a four page leaflet done by the Stirchley Forum for and on behalf of the folks within the Stirchley area. I'm not a councillor but I'm the Labour and co-operative candidate  in the local elections on may 6th .
I keep an eye on the issues here and I'm willing to answer questions and put my view forward if invited.
I tend to mention some of things that come up here on the doorstep - at the very least you give me an idea of what is going on in certain areas.
I havent so far posted because I think its a bit off putting when activists suddenly invade a forum ,especially now we are going into a general election.

But if anybody here wants me to reply I will.

It would be a good idea if the local councillors were to sign up to this online forum.
They are supposed to listen to the people they were elected to represent.
There are many people who can't get to the meeting due to work or have small kids or are disabled etc.
Online discussion direct with our elected councillors would be ideal for these people to gain representation.
