Does anyone remember the old dairy,in Charlotte rd opposite Stirchley School. I think it was used to park the floats up there.
There was a ramp as you went up and on the side of the ramp was some bars,if you looked through you could see right through to the other side.

Hi Phill,
Think you will find that that was the garage there, (it's now Travis perkins) where they used to repair their vehicles, at stirchley school open day last November, there was a gent who apprenticed making cart wheels (as in horse and cart) Mick may still have some of the photos on site.
The dairy was where the co-op is now, I worked in the co-op when it first opened, and we never ran short of milk Roll Eyes
Unless of course, someone knows better.

Taken from co-ophistorian's photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/co-ophistory/307006811/
Ten Acres & Stirchley Co-op dairy, Ribblesdale Rd, Stirchley, Birmingham. Opened 1910 and ceased production 1971, although still used as a milk distribution site until around 1997. This shot taken July 1991 and shows the old garage once taken over and used as a bottling plant, then back to a garage for milk floats.
