New Priorities:

* Groups of males drinking alcohol, causing ASB and litter in Vicarage Road outside the book makers.
* Speeding in Priory Road
* Inconsiderate parking in Priory Road
* Gritting in Priory Road
* Dog fouling in Priory Road, Vicarage Road and Fordhouse Lane
* Parking on pavements outside Enterprise in Pershore Road

Previous Priorities:

* Overgrown walkway in Hazelwell Park between Edwin Road @ Newlands Road
Councillor Huxtable has established the walkway is privately owned. He and the neighbourhood team are working with the  Friends of Hazelwell Park to find a solution to clearing this area.

* Parked vehicle regularly blocking alley in Newlands Road
The vehicle has not been seen for some time. The team will monitor in case it returns.

Other Updates

*House Burglaries in Dads Lane/ Fordhouse Lane area
A male from the Stirchley area was arrested whilst in the act of committing a burglary in Kings Norton. He is now in custody. There have been no further burglaries since he was arrested.

*Operation Radiatore
Following a number of thefts of motorcycles, pedal cycles, metals and other items in the Stirchley village area the neighbourhood team organised a joint operation with Environmental Agency officers and VOSA to stop and inspect the vehicles of scrap metal and other waste carriers in the area. 19 vehicles were inspected, the driver of a scrap wagon was arrested for theft of metal, his un-insured vehicle was seized and he will be prosecuted for document offences and not being a registered waste carrier. Six other drivers were issued with prohibition notices giving them a set time to have defects rectified; two others were prosecuted for having defective tyres.  The team delivered letters to household, retailers and businesses along Pershore Road explaining what we were doing and why.

* Anti Social Behaviour in Beilby Road and Windsor Road
Following this issue being first raised last summer the neighbourhood team have been working closely with the Council Housing department and BASBU (Birmingham Anti Social Behaviour Unit) through the Bournville Ward Safer estates Group to gather evidence for court proceedings against the landlord /owner of one particular  property. Sufficient evidence had been gained to apply for a closure order. However the landlord has now sold the property at auction so proceedings have been halted. The team will continue to monitor this area and take action against any person found to be committing crime and/or ASB.
