Enterprise Cars
« on: February 24, 2014, 09:13:42 AM »
This issue seems to be getting worse.

Every Friday the Enterprise on Pershore road seems to be the local dumping spot.

I counted 7 vehicles on Twyning Road and 12 on Ripple Road.  Parking in Twyning Road is bad enough without these extra vehicles coming in.

I got a parking ticket yesterday afernoon (16.20) for parking by one of the small dropped kerbs.  It was the only place left to park my car.

Enterprise have previously said they were doing something about it but this looks like nothing more than lip service.

They even park fully on the Pershore Road pavement and one has to walk in the busy road to get past.
One of my neighbours couldn't get past in her wheelchair either :(

This link has been posted onto two of their facebook pages.

I have been told:

Where are the parking wardens when you need them, perhaps they could be assigned to the job.

While they are down there, how about nipping round to the little island at the junction of Umberslade and Ribblesdale Road, where a silver car is on the pavement most days. Yes the pavement is quite wide but the car impeeds a drivers vision of traffic coming down the hill when exiting Ribblesdale Road.

There must be a traffic warden about somewhere because I got a parking tickety last sunday after 4.00pm for parking too close to one of the new dropped kerbs.

I have been complaing on this site for months if not years about the lack of wardens in Stirchley, nobody as ever taken a blind bit of notice, i have even brought it up at meetings to no avail there is something very underhand going on in Stirchley regarding booking certain people.
I know that if they kept the roads clear Stirchley wouldn't be such a bottleneck, now on the other hand go a mile up the road to Cotteridge and park incorrectly there for a few minutes i will guarantee you get a ticket.    :-\

Well after Enterprise Cars said they would pay my parking fine because I couldn't park in Twyning Road they've now gone back on their word.  Don't trust that Area Manager.  He's full of hot air.

There was a traffic warden putting a ticket on a car parked totally on the pavement down Linden Rd this morning...so they are about.

Just went past 'Enterprise'.

Yet another 'ready to go' car blocking 80% of the pavement.

It's now obvious that Management don't give a s**t about local residents and only of their business.

Does Cllr. Huxtable read this forum?

Reply from Councillor Timothy Huxtable:

"Hi Mick

Thanks for your email.

Provided the cars are taxed and insured we can't stop Enterprise Vehicles parking on the carriageway along Twyning Road and Ripple Road (this is what I get most complaints about from residents).

However, Enterprise Vehicles (like any other vehicle) are not permitted to park on the footpath causing an obstruction (especially on top of a "No Parking" painted marking on the pavement, as seen in the photo in your email).

I have therefore referred the matter onto the neighbourhood police team.

Kind Regards

Timothy"
